- I am a life long member of southern baptist churches. I grew up in what we used to call pioneer areas and am a charter member of at least 3 baptist churches. I have 2 degrees from a great, state university and almost 2 degrees from a southern baptist seminary. I have been involved in southern baptist life for more than five decades as a teacher at several levels including college and seminary, a minister, a missionary, a youth worker and in many other ways. I am a Vietnam veteran who came back from the war and discovered that Jesus really meant it when he said, "Love your enemy!"
